30% off LEGO Ideas 21337 Table Football, plus double VIP points and two free gifts

The LEGO Group has slashed 30% off the price of the brand new 21337 Table Football, which also qualifies for double VIP points and up to three free gifts.

It only arrived on shelves in November, but the latest LEGO Ideas set has already been knocked down to £150.49 / $174.99 / €174.99 at LEGO.com. That’s a whopping 30% off its retail price of £214.99 / $249.99 / €249.99, less than six weeks into its shelf life. And to sweeten the deal even further, 21337 Table Football still qualifies for both double VIP points – available from today through December 13 – and current gifts-with-purchase.

In the UK and Europe, you’ll automatically get three separate freebies just by purchasing 21337 Table Football (as long as you’re logged in as a VIP member), in the form of 30584 Winter Holiday Train, 40512 Fun and Funky VIP Add-on Pack and 40565 Santa’s Workshop. If you’re in the US, you’ll get the latter two of those gifts – but if you add another £49.51 / $25.01 / €25.01 of products to your basket, you’ll also snag 5007622 Fleece Blanket.

LEGO gift-with-purchaseRequired spendAvailability period
40565 Santa’s Workshop£150 / $150 / €150December 1 to 24
40512 Fun and Funky VIP Add-on Pack£50 / $50 / €50November 29 to December 31
30584 Winter Holiday Train£40 / $40 / €40December 1 to 24
5007622 Fleece Blanket£200 / $200 / €200December 1 to 31

Courting controversy for its price and muddled focus upon release, 21337 Table Football is a scaled-down realisation of Donát Fehérvári’s LEGO Ideas submission. A fraught development process almost saw it cancelled altogether, but the LEGO Group managed to find a compromise that allowed for structural stability: paring back the pitch from 11-a-side to five-a-side.

The set still comes with a full two football teams of minifigures, with 22 separate sets of torsos and legs. That’s alongside 44 different heads and 43 different hairpieces, allowing you to mix and match minifigures to create your own customised teams. But given this unprecedented early discount, that seemingly hasn’t been enough to entice anyone to take the plunge on 21337 Table Football.

At 30% off, though, it’s an entirely different ball game: for that price, it starts to become a decent prospect for just the parts and minifigures alone. Factor in double VIP points – equivalent to £15.05 / $17.50 / €17.50 cashback on 21337 Table Football – and those two or three free gifts, and this LEGO Ideas set suddenly looks a lot more tempting.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
