Every LEGO Batman and DC set retiring in 2023 and beyond – January update

There are only five LEGO Batman (or LEGO DC) sets currently on shelves, and more than half of those are due to retire by the end of 2023.

It’s pretty slim pickings for LEGO DC fans at the moment, as the LEGO Group continues to prioritise Marvel from its stable of superhero themes. And while we’re waiting on James Gunn to steady the good ship DCEU over at Warner Bros., it doesn’t look like a change to the status quo is imminent – which means we could end up with a situation where there are no LEGO Batman or DC sets on shelves.

That won’t happen for a little while yet, as at least two of the theme’s current sets aren’t scheduled to retire until the end of 2024. But this year represents last chance saloon for the other three at the time of writing, so best bump them up to the top of the list if you’re keen on a small Batmobile, a big Batmobile, or a 4+ Harley Quinn minifigure delivery mechanism.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

You put December 31, 2023 twice. The Tumbler and Cycle should be 2024
