LEGO Ideas 21338 A-Frame Cabin includes a nod to a brand from yesteryear

Multiple references to other themes in the upcoming LEGO Ideas 21338 A-Frame Cabin include a nod to a familiar brand from the past.

21338 A-Frame Cabin will be launching next month, with the latest LEGO Ideas set due to arrive on February 1, 2023. The model is packed with plenty of charm and details, including nods to other LEGO sets such as 21318 Tree House and 21327 Typewriter, as well as the use of Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, forming part of the base of the build.

In fact the sheer level of detail present in 21338 A-Frame Cabin means that multiple views of the set result in more layers being peeled back and all sorts of discoveries being made, such as a nod to a LEGO brand from yesteryear. Located at the rear of the cabin, next to the shower/toilet, is a fuel canister constructed from white, red and green elements.

This is a reference to Octan, the fictitious LEGO gas station brand designed by Torben Skov that first appeared in two System sets from 1992, 6397 Gas N’ Wash Express and 6594 Gas Transit, and most recently in 60115 4×4 Off-Roader. The Octan logo has popped up numerous times over the years in a variety of sets, is the sponsor of the Moose Jaw Octan Oilers hockey team and is also featured in the LEGO Movie as a large and sinister corporation controlled by President Business.
