Manchester school children win LEGOLAND Discovery Centre competition

Forest Park Preparatory School have been crowned the winners of a LEGOLAND Discovery Centre competition.

Resident Master Model Builder Alex Bidolak guided pupils from Forest Park, who began the process of building a LEGO replica of their school. The students from Sale then returned to the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester, to add the finishing touches to the model.

The contest saw schools in the area ask pupils to sketch their school, before the winning entry was selected leading to Forest Park School being immortalised in LEGO.

The Headteacher, Nick Turner, spoke to Manchester Evening News:

Lego is obviously great for children to hone their fine motor skills but it also encourages them to be creative, problem solve and helps to promote teamwork, as they always split off into little groups to work on a build.”

The LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester recently underwent a facelift, adding an all-new NINJAGO themed play area and Creative Workshop.
