YouTuber’s Monsters, Inc. model reaches first 2023 LEGO Ideas review

A Monsters, Inc. model has reached the first 2023 LEGO Ideas review after two years, joining another project in the round from a YouTuber.

After two years and 11 days since it was first submitted to LEGO Ideas, Monsters Inc: The Door to Monstropolis is now in the first 2023 LEGO Ideas review. It comes from LEGO YouTuber HollyonFilm, much like Ashnflash’s Shrek project also in this phase.

Unlike the Shrek project, the Monsters, Inc. model wasn’t quite as quick to reach 10K, despite a similar video being uploaded based on it shortly after submission in 2021, suggesting that the stretch goals in the Shrek submission contributed to its quick climb. Figures of Mike, Sully and Boo are all proposed with Mike using the Minions body element and Sully featuring the larger figure arms.

The giant door shares a feature seen in 75936 Jurassic Park T. rex Rampage with a variety of scenes recreated on the rear. Otherwise, it’s mostly focused on displaying and recreating the door station and Boo’s door as seen in the film complete with a scream canister and control panel.
