SDCC confirms second season of LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising

The NINJAGO/DREAMZzz panel at San Diego Comic-Con today confirmed that a second season of the hit NINJAGO show is on its way.

During ‘LEGO: I Had a DREAMZzz Last Night About NINJAGO!’ at SDCC 2023, various minds from behind both themes came together to discuss both LEGO DREAMZzz and Dragons’ Rising, including model designer Freddy Charters, voice actors Sarah Jeffery (Zoey), Marcos Cardenas (Mateo), Vincent Tong (Logan, Kai), Brian Drummond (Mr. Oz, Nightmare King, Ras, Riyu, Lobbo), and Larissa Dias (Izzie), and head of LEGO production Asa Tait.

During the Q&A and presentation portion, the team revealed that the second batch of ten episodes of LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising will indeed be on their way on October 12. What’s more, a second season has been officially confirmed to be on its way sometime next year (although no specific date has been given).

According to live reporting via The Brick Fan on Twitter, the team went on to acknowledge that there’s a fine line between moving forward with new content, without ignoring the older legacy characters and plots from NINJAGO’s various other TV shows and properties.

While those at the panel also stated on Twitter that an exclusive clip was shown, this appears to be for the upcoming ten episodes, rather than the second season. As filming is banned within the room, a copy of that video has not yet been publicly circulated, so not much is yet known about what’s in store, either in the second half of season one or in the upcoming second season. However, appearances from older characters have been teased.

Dragons Rising is available to watch on Netflix in most international territories, while the 30-minute episodes are available on ITVX in the UK.
