Kevin Feige’s spot in LEGO 76269 Avengers Tower explained

One of the minifigures in LEGO Marvel 76269 Avengers Tower isn’t quite like the rest, but a designer has stated otherwise for good reason.

Out of the 32 characters in LEGO Marvel 76269 Avengers Tower, one minifigure stands out from the rest for a specific reason. While the likes of Iron Man, Loki, the Hulk and more are entirely fictional, the non-fictional Kevin Feige has a minifigure wandering around the many floors of the building.

Feige is the Chief Creative Officer at Marvel Studios and while his presence makes some sense in that regard, his inclusion as a minifigure to stand alongside fictional characters is definitely unusual for a LEGO set. However, the latest LEGO designer video has helped it make sense from an in-universe perspective.

In the designer video, Senior Graphic Designer Mark Tranter goes over the minifigures in 76269 Avengers Tower. Kevin Feige is given a second identity in the video as Kevin the Avengers fan. Given the role that Feige plays in the Marvel Cinematic Universe behind the scenes, it’s safe to say that he is a fan of the Avengers in real life.

However, this may be suggesting that Kevin the Avengers fan is another identity for this minifigure to explain why the President of Marvel Studios can exist in-universe, beyond the minifigure just being an interesting Easter egg for Marvel enthusiasts.

The fact that Kevin’s cap also appears in 5008076 LEGO Marvel Taxi only furthers this idea as the item of clothing could be considered merchandise that Kevin the Avengers fan has picked up ahead of his visit to Avengers Tower – an idea that the taxi driver has had too.

Either way, Kevin Feige is one of the few real people appearing as minifigures alongside fictional characters in LEGO sets. The only other entry on that list to our knowledge is Walt Disney in 43230 Walt Disney Tribute Camera.

76269 Avengers Tower is scheduled to release on November 24, 2023, and those who buy it at launch until November 27 can score 5008076 LEGO Marvel Taxi for free.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
