Upscaled LEGO Technic 851 Tractor is the latest giant 3D printed model

Giant 3D printed LEGO expert Matt Denton has gone even bigger than before with his latest project, 851 Tractor.

Taking a classic LEGO Technic set from 1977 as his starting point, Matt Denton has had his 3D printers working overtime to produce the 318 pieces required. 851 Tractor (set number 952 in the USA) is the fourth oversized Technic build that the LEGO enthusiast has put together. As always, the giant LEGO elements clip together just like the regular size originals.

In this latest video, Matt and his nephew build the oversized LEGO Technic set, while sharing some tips and tricks for putting upscaled bricks together. Knowing the types of material used will help other 3D printing enthusiasts print their own creations.

The LEGO tyres in this project are bigger than ever – each one takes 13 hours to print. As demonstrated in the video, all of the set’s original functions work in the giant version.

Previous sets that Matt has tackled include 1792 Go-Kart, 850 Forklift Truck and 856 Bulldozer. He achieved a place in the latest Guiness World Records book by building the world’s largest every rideable hexapod.
