Every brand new LEGO set launching in October 2022

A new theme, several LEGO firsts and the latest huge Star Wars set headline the list of brand new LEGO products landing on shelves throughout October.

Got a chunk of change burning a hole in your pocket? Whether it’s just a few coins or one of those stacks of bills you only see in gangster movies, the LEGO Group has some means of persuading you to part with it in October. From a new Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series set to the latest Winter Village Collection model, there are plenty of new additions to familiar subthemes – but also some genuinely new stuff.

Among those are a life-sized bust, the biggest LEGO Super Mario set to date and even an entirely new theme, debuting for the first time on October 1. Dive into the full list below, and remember that all purchases above £120 / $120 / €120 will qualify for this month’s gift-with-purchase, 40566 Ray the Castaway. That LEGO Ideas set is available until October 13, or while stocks last.

LEGO Avatar

Did someone say new theme? Only 13 years on from the original movie landing in cinemas comes LEGO Avatar, with five brand new sets based on James Cameron’s box office-busting epic. None of them are especially cheap (beyond the BrickHeadz two-pack), but you will get to check out the return of the longer LEGO minifigure legs.

LEGO ICONS

Arriving on October 3 for VIP members and October 7 for everyone else, 10308 Holiday Main Street is this year’s addition to the Winter Village Collection. It’s the first time we’ve had a festive tram in the holiday line-up, but it’s definitely not our first Christmas tree.

LEGO Ideas

Oh my god. Okay. It’s happening. Everybody stay calm. The LEGO Group has finally delivered the sitcom set we’ve all been waiting for (at least if the very many Ideas projects getting to 10K are any indication) in 21336 The Office. Just like the US show (sorry, David Brent fans), it’s packed with characters, references and, erm, office equipment.

LEGO Marvel

Looking for ways to make new friends? How about building one? A life-sized LEGO Black Panther might not talk back (not always a bad thing), but at least you can work it around your schedule. This is one of the most unusual (and unexpected) LEGO Marvel sets to date, and that price tag doesn’t help, but could this be one of the year’s underrated gems? You won’t know until you’ve built it…

LEGO Star Wars

“This is the way,” said Din Djarin, presumably just before shelling out north of £500 on a 6,187-piece replica of his first ship. After all, what better way to immortalise the memory of The Razor Crest, a transport that we’ll likely never see again on screen? This Ultimate Collector Series set is the third-largest LEGO Star Wars model to date, and caps off another massive year for the theme from a galaxy far, far away. We have spoken.

75331 The Razor Crest£519.99 / $599.99 / €599.996,1874October 3 (VIPs), October 7 (wide), 2022

LEGO Super Mario

The LEGO Group is taking its Super Mario theme to strange new places yet again with this year’s direct-to-consumer set, which follows up a retro TV and a big yellow cube with… a big yellow bad guy. 71411 The Mighty Bowser is absolutely massive, but can still interact with the digital Mario, Luigi and Peach figures for maximum playability. It’s the boss level we’ve been waiting for, basically.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
