LEGO Winter Village 10308 Holiday Main Street revealed

The LEGO Group has finally revealed this year’s festive addition to the seasonal Winter Village Collection, 10308 Holiday Main Street.

Comprising a pair of two-storey buildings, the Winter Village’s first-ever tram and a requisite Christmas tree, the 1,514-piece set follows a long tradition of annual festive builds from the LEGO Group. It’s also one of only two designed to accommodate motors (alongside 10254 Winter Holiday Train), as the streetcar can be upgraded right out of the box with Powered Up components (sold separately).

The two buildings lean into previous sets like 10199 Winter Village Toy Shop and 10235 Winter Village Market in theme (Christmas shopping!), but hew closer to last year’s LEGO Harry Potter 76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit in design, echoing the shallow template of Honeydukes and The Three Broomsticks. The ground floors contain music and toy stores, while there are apartments on the top floors.

“The annual LEGO Winter Village sets are one of my all-time favourite holiday traditions,” said LEGO Creative Lead Jamie Berard. “The Holiday Main Street brings together a whole downtown of activity and imagination into one set. Building as an individual or as a family, you’ll discover a model with all the hustle and bustle of a festive shopping street – complete with trolley, snow-topped shops and children posting letters.

“I especially like the brick-built toys in the toy shop and the super-cute mini Christmas tree in the upper apartment. They just make me smile.”

10308 Holiday Main Street launches at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores on October 3 for VIPs (and October 7 for everyone else) for £89.99 / $99.99/ €99.99, joining current Winter Village sets 10275 Elf Club House (which retires this year) and 10293 Santa’s Visit.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

Chris – I read the statement on JK Rowlin’s’ disappointing stance on trans rights. Though I feel the article you wrote is comprehensive and sheds light on the need to defend trans rights, you mention how buying from the Harry Potter line monetarily or morally supports Rowling while still providing affiliate links to the HP line. This feels disingenuous and hypocritical. Would you consider removing the links and stand behind support for trans rights?
