Win all the LEGO 90th anniversary sets in a new competition

A contest on the LEGO Ideas website is offering all the 90th anniversary LEGO sets as a prize.

The LEGO Group turns 90 this year, and the company is honouring the event in a variety of ways. Naturally, the most interesting (to many LEGO fans) is the new LEGO sets being produced for the event. Five have been announced so far, each paying tribute to different eras in LEGO history.

11021 90 Years of Play is currently available in the Classic range, as is 30510 90 Years of Cars (even if finding it may be tricky at the moment). However, 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle and 10497 Galaxy Explorer have yet to be released. 40567 Forest Hideout, meanwhile, was only available during a now-expired promotion.

If you’re keen to add these sets to your collection, you can do so by winning this competition. Entrants must recreate their favourite LEGO set at a micro scale; the best effort will win all five 90th anniversary LEGO sets.

Before you start rummaging around in your LEGO collection, there’s a couple of things to bear in mind. You can’t make a model inspired by a licensed theme, like Star Wars or DC Comics. And anything you make for this contest can’t be entered into a future 90th anniversary contest.

Including this one, the LEGO Group will be running five 90th birthday contests over the next five weeks – leading up the actual anniversary date of August 10. Each contest will be open for two weeks, which means the deadline for this one is July 7. The winner of each contest will be announced on August 4.

Visit the official contest page to read all the fine details and submit your entry. If you’re looking for a spark of inspiration, check out our own recreations of classic LEGO sets.
