È stato confermato LEGO Horizon Adventures non riesce a sfruttare appieno le potenzialità della console PlayStation 5 Pro di Sony al momento del lancio.
LEGO Horizon Adventures è finalmente uscito oggi, con la versione in mattoncini del popolare Horizon Zero Dawn di Sony ora disponibile su PlayStation 5, PC e Nintendo Switch. Il titolo è stato creato in collaborazione tra LEGO Group, Sony, Guerrilla Games e Studio Gobo, ed è disponibile sia in versione digitale che fisica.
Mentre LEGO Horizon Adventures è diventato decisamente recensioni contrastanti in generale, il fatto che il gioco esista sulla console di un concorrente ha sorpreso più di qualche giocatore. Tuttavia, è la piattaforma della stessa Sony che sembra aver subito un colpo quando si tratta delle prestazioni del gioco.
Eurogamer riporta che LEGO Horizon Adventures non supporta PlayStation 5 Pro al momento del lancio, dato che la console di nuova generazione è stata rilasciata in tutto il mondo il 7 novembre. Il titolo non ha l'etichetta PS5 Pro Enhanced sul PlayStation Store ufficiale e offre invece ai giocatori la possibilità di scegliere tra due diverse modalità grafiche.
La modalità Prestazioni offre un frame rate più elevato ma una grafica di qualità inferiore, mentre la modalità Fedeltà offre un frame rate inferiore ma una maggiore risoluzione e dettaglio delle texture. Il rapporto prosegue affermando che Guerrilla Games e Studio Gobo potrebbero rilasciare una patch per le versioni base di PlayStation 5 e PlayStation 5 Pro di LEGO Horizon Adventures in una data successiva, anche se la notizia deve ancora essere confermata.
At the PlayStation 5 Pro's launch, Sony revealed that several existing titles (such as Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered) would be patched up to the PS5 Pro Enhanced level, taking advantage of the console’s advanced ray tracing and 45% faster rendering.
Eurogamer’s own two-star review of LEGO Horizon Adventures comments that, “It's a decidedly joyless kind of game, the sort that's better to look at than actually play with, and one that does little to bridge the gap between its two main subjects.”
"I still don't know why it exists or who it's for,” continues the review, “and there's little evidence to suggest that Guerrilla or Gobo know the answer either.”
