Marvel Studios’ I Am Groot streaming on Disney+ now

The animated adventures of everyone’s favourite Guardian of the Galaxy (c’mon, you know he is) are available to watch on Disney+ right now.

The latest Marvel Studios release has dropped on Disney+ today, but with a twist. Instead of a live-action offering, such as Ms. Marvel, or a traditional 2D animated show, like What If…?, we’re instead being treated to five CG shorts featuring Groot.

The loveable (and mischievous) member of the Guardians of the Galaxy stars in each episode of I Am Groot, and we get to watch the character getting up to all sorts of hijinks in a variety of intergalactic locations. Voiced as usual by Vin Diesel, the series is set after the event of the first Guardians film and although each short is only a few minutes long, they manage to pack in plenty of action, fun and some very impressive animation.

We don’t want to spoil any of the surprises in store, but let’s just say you can expect to see what happens when Groot attempts to build a treehouse, has a temper tantrum, tries his hand at art and takes part in a dance-off with a liquid alien doppelganger.

Fans of the plant-based pipsqueak can pick up 76217 I Am Groot right now and the previously-revealed 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar should be available from September 1. In addition, a new LEGO Marvel double-pack has turned up in the US at Costco in the shape of 66711 Infinity Saga Collection. The set contains both 76216 Iron Man Armoury and 76217 I Am Groot and is priced at just $99.99, making it more affordable than buying both models separately.
