Brick Pic of the Day: 01 August 16

Hogwarts

Whilst today is 1st August, yesterday marked the birthday of a certain well-known wizard,  also shared by his creator J.K. Rowling. Some of you may remember the excitement of queuing up outside Waterstones at midnight to buy the latest copy of a Harry Potter book being released, and whilst no new HP novels have been released since 2007, yesterday saw the highly anticipated release of the new screenplay to The Cursed Child.

The image above is of the classic Hogwarts Castle set released in 2010 – the 4th iteration of the infamous wizarding school and by far the best version (in my opinion). Whilst we’re pretty certain some new sets from Fantastic Beasts will be released later in the year (excluding the Dimensions ones we already know about) how great would it be to see a larger scale Hogwarts or Harry Potter themed sets again…

Hello, I'm Séb, your friendly neighbourhood AFOL.
As a child, Lego was always my favourite toy and now as an adult it appears nothing has changed. I emerged from my dark ages in 2011 after rediscovering my old sets in my parents' attic and haven't looked back since.
I'm a big fan of the licensed themes particularly DC/Marvel Superheroes & Lord Of The Rings, though Creator Expert provides the more challenging & technical build I'm rather fond of.
